My Testimony

Never thought I was a sinner,

I was never very bad.

Never knew how much I hurt him,

Never knew I made God sad.

Went to Sunday School each Sabbath

With my mother and my dad.

Every memory verse I learned,

Tried to make my parents glad.

I knew all the Bible stories,

I knew Jesus was God's son,

Knew about the crucifixion,

But knew not, I was the one.

The one Jesus gave his life for,

How could I, such great love shun?

How could I, not acknowledge,

This grand thing that God had done.

When the preacher spoke one morning,

God reached down and touched my soul .

Suddenly I understood it.

Christ desired to make me whole.

I gave Him my heart that morning,

Asked my Lord to take control.

I will follow Him forever,

All his goodness to extol.

Since that time, when I allow Him,

Jesus guides me every day.

Every need He does provide for,

If I ask him when I pray.

Faithful to God's word I'll stay and

He won't let me go astray.

It is my great joy to share of

My God's wondrous loving way

One day when my Savior calls me

I'll stop trav'ling this life's maze.

I will follow Him to Heaven

Evermore to sing God's praise.

Every morning when I wake up

Lovingly on Him I'll gaze.

And I'll pray that you'll surrender

To the love my Lord displays.
