CREATIONWEIRD
AND WONDERFUL

God
could have made the earth a perfect sphere. He
could have made the sun to shine and never disappear. He
could have made the rivers, without ripples, waves or attitude, To
flow on straight, in lines of longitude and latitude. He
could have made all trees to look like cones And
every kind of animal, appear as copied clones. He
could have made mankind with no ability to err To
always worship Him in perfect praise and prayer. Instead,
He filled creation with dappled dazzling things With
seasons; Winters, Summers, Falls and Springs. With
kangaroos and dromedary, and the pompous platypus, And
bats and bumblebees, and hippopotamus, With
hammerheads, grand giraffes and wiggly octopi; Giants,
pigmies, redwood trees, bonsai and fungi And
yet there is in style and form, a pattern truly fair In
every stippled, fickle, freckled tiny cell and hair. Praise
God for beauty formed in scientific artistry and skill, Praise Him too, for sovereignty, expressed through our free will. |
