ANGELS By Bob BlackmanCopyright ©1996
An Angel stood at Eden's gate, To guard the way therein. For man was doomed to live outside, Cursed, because of Adam's sin.
Angels stood on the silent wind, Announcing Jesus' birth. The great Messiah had come at last, To bring salvation to earth.
An angel stood on the desert floor, Minist'ring to our Lord. Satan had tempted with all his might, But Christ's perfection soared.
Angels stood twixt heaven and earth, Waiting their Master's call. Messiah was dying upon the cross, He freely sacrificed all.
An angel stood by the garden tomb, Waiting for those Christ chose, "He is not here," the angel said, "Up from this grave, He arose."
An angel stands by heaven's gate, To welcome my soul in. A fallen man, by Christ redeemed, He washed away my sin.
